Fashion Futures Lab is a living lab for testing and scaling circular fashion solutions, inspired by global communities on the frontlines of textile waste. Rooted in radical collectivism, we prioritise collaboration over individual recognition to amplify collective impact. Building on Kantamanto Social Club and our collaboration with Kantamanto Market, where 30,000 people resell, repair, and upcycle millions of discarded garments each week, we bridge local ingenuity with global systems.
In the Netherlands, we pilot a remanufacturing ecosystem with social organisations and sorting infrastructure, creating inclusive employment while transforming discarded textiles into valuable new products. By redistributing the burden of secondhand textiles and creating feedback loops between the Netherlands and often-forgotten communities, we co-develop solutions that are locally grounded yet globally relevant.
We believe remanufacturing is an overlooked path to sustainable fashion, powered by the informal knowledge of communities who have long repaired, resold, and upcycled at scale. By pairing this expertise with a radical collective approach through social organisations, we tackle waste while creating meaningful social impact.
