The Social Impact Award recognizes a fashion pioneer who uses the power of entrepreneurship to drive sustainable and social change in the fashion industry. This changemaker combines creativity with a deep sense of social responsibility, contributing to fair opportunities for people worldwide—aligned with the Rabo Foundation’s mission to promote inclusive economic growth.
This award targets social entrepreneurs and organisations that:
Strengthening self-reliance
Supporting fair labor practices
Building sustainable value chains
Applications will be assessed by our jury panel against the following criteria:
Social Impact
Tangible improvements in living and working conditions Inclusive employment or opportunities for vulnerable groups Collaboration with communities
Entrepreneurship & Scalability
Strong entrepreneurial drive and sustainable business practices Potential to grow or deepen the social impact Long-term financial viability
Sustainability & Innovation
Use of circular materials and fair production methods Creative solutions to social or environmental challenges
Inspiring Leadership
Recognized as a role model within the industry Motivates others to engage in social or sustainable entrepreneurship Actively contributes to awareness and systems change
To qualify for evaluation and award eligibility:
Social Entrepreneur Status
The applicant must be an active social entrepreneur in the fashion or textile sector, with a registered company in the Netherlands that demonstrably creates social impact.
Clear Social Mission
The enterprise must have a defined social mission—such as creating equal opportunities, strengthening self-reliance, or improving living and working conditions within the fashion value chain.
Proven Impact
The company must have been operating for at least 1 year and be able to show measurable social and/or sustainable impact.
Innovative Approach
The applicant must bring innovation to the sector—whether through product, process, supply chain, business model, or partnerships—while maintaining a focus on both people and the planet.

Which award should I apply for?
You may be eligible for multiple award categories based on the criteria. Choose the one that best matches your qualifications. Your application must be based on the listed criteria. You may apply for more than one award, but you can only win one. Please note that we do not provide advice on which award to choose.
When and how will I know if I’m nominated?
Nominees will receive an email with important details on 3 or 10 October depending on the award. The full list of nominees will be published on the Fashion Pioneers Awards website on 10 October and shared via our social media channels.
When and how will I know if I’m nominated for the Circular Design Award?
Nominees for the Circular Design Award will receive an email with important details on Friday 3 October. The full list of nominees will also be published on the Fashion Pioneers Awards website and shared via our social media channels. If you are nominated, you will automatically be invited to join the workshop on 10 October and attend the Award Show on November 28 at Fashion for Good. Make sure to mark these dates already in your agenda.

What do I receive if I win a PR campaign by Mumster?
Mumster will create and execute a custom PR campaign to provide visibility to the winning initiative, in collaboration with HUGO BOSS.
